Camping with mom and dad, Shelly and family, Jenny and family. I guess we are the only ones who have been here before. It’s unanimous that we should do summer family camp here next year. The cabins are nice two room affairs, the lake is nice and quiet, the campground isn’t overly noisy with screaming kids, barking dogs, or generators.
Went through Puyallup, Eatonville, and Elbe. Traffic wasn’t as craptacular as usual and made it in good time.

Shelly brought a kayak and and we took turns paddling around the lake. Boat traffic is low and it’s calm. Once you are out of the protection of the peninsula the wind it pretty sharp, blowing east up the lake. Made chicken kebabs and all the fixings for dinner. Mom parboiled some potatoes and wrapped them up with butter and onion and I threw them in the fire. I was a little too conservative with placement and need to put them more directly in the fire next time. Parboiling was a good idea. I’ll need to remember that. The younger and more capable walked to the day use area and found a trail with ripe salmon berries. A nice treat.

Packing slowly. Might drive over to the day use area and see what this trail is that everyone found yesterday. I’m leaving the camper on the truck when we get home. I don’t see the point of separating the two when gas prices are so high.
