We are doing Thanksgiving early this year with the hopes that it becomes a new tradition. Driving over the passes in late November is something we should plan on not doing, especially as we continue to age. We got a pull through site this time because we knew we would be coming in after dark and would be much easier to maneuver into. I like the back-in sites better, more space. It’s all parking lot camping regardless.
Did the first oil change on the truck at 5500 miles or so. The owners manual says wait until the oil change thing turns on in the dash. The computer said there was 30% oil life left. The HEMI 6.4 manual says every 6000 miles. It’s a very easy job and I don’t even have to jack up the truck.
Gas is even more expensive. I paid $5.50 a gallon at home. I filled in LaGrand for $4.99 a gallon. We will pay something like $350 just for fuel for this trip.
