Mother’s Day and a weekend out in the forest for Lorena. We invited Shelly to come with us. It was snowing at the top of Snoqualmie Friday when we came over. There’s still lots of snow in the hills. The campground was rather crowded. We are probably at the edge of usability this time of year. I expect it to start getting very crowded and noisy. It is still pretty cold at night, 38 degrees. We’ve discovered when camping in cold weather it’s best to make sure the camper is good an warm before bedtime. I’ll set the catalytic heater to high a couple hours before bed time and it’s fairly warm. Without the preheat it take a bit to warm up and get to sleep. We scavenged enough wood to keep a fire going Saturday afternoon till bedtime. Camping is always nicer with a fire.
I really like driving east to camp. The traffic is so much better. We need to work on camping that doesn’t involve I5 or 167.
