3-20-2026 Ike Kinswa

First camping of the year.  Came down through Elbe.  It was probably faster than the freeway, but still pretty slow.  Even left work early and got a 2 hour head start.  Walked over to the lake at dusk and got some good pictures.  No wind this year, but cold like last year.

Walked across the highway to the day-use.  Looks like it would be very busy in the on season.  Good swimming area.  A couple of horseshoe pits.  Does anyone even know what they are these days?  Sunny and cool today.  

When I put the bracket for the steps on the back of the camper years ago I centered it on the camper bumper, not the door.  It’s bothered me every since.  I finally got around to centering it on the door.  It’s a subtle difference, but I think it feels better.

3-22-2026

Cold last night.  Nearly freezing.  The little space heater ran most of the night.  The main part of the camper stayed very comfortable, but the bunk was cool with the curtain drawn.  Packed up and on the road about 1pm.  Camper and truck both need a bath before the spring break trip in 2 weeks.   Truck needs an oil change too.  

Good first trip of the year.  Nothing of note fell off either the truck or camper.
