Lorena is flying with her aunt Christie, who is frail and in poor health, to Chicago this weekend. I thought I’d take the boys camping and get them out of the house and away from all the screens.
It’s fairly cold here. Didn’t get much above 40 degrees during the day, 30 at night. The lights have stayed on all day and the catalytic heater too. I ran the house heater a bit this morning but the catalytic does a much better job. Rained a bit when we went to the beach at low tide. We had lunch then walked the outer trail on the point.
Josiah went on an adventure in the upper loops making sure to bring his survival pack with him. I don’t exactly know what’s in it, probably a small dull knife, a space blanket, and some soggy matches.
I didn’t do much of anything maintenance wise to the truck this winter. Touched up the paint on the hood where some rust was, replaced the PCV valve and grommet, took apart the windshield washer motor (again). I should replace it. It tends to get stuck after not being used for long periods of time. The house battery is 7 or 8 years old at this point and really showing it’s age. I want to replace it with another deep cycle 100ah before the spring break trip next month. Probably will go with another Les Schwab battery unless I can find an Interstate battery for a better price.
