10-12-2024 Scenic Beach State Park

This one is new for us.  Not a lot of campers here.  The sites are pretty large, well groomed, and lots of privacy shrubs.   Quite a few are pointed the wrong way.  Good luck if you have a trailer.  The parking pads are dirt and many are uneven took a bit of doing to find a good compromise for leveling the camper.  No hookups of any kind.  I was worried about that.  It usually means lots of noisy generators.  I may have heard one in the afternoon.  It’s been quiet enough that you can hear the wind in the crow’s wings as they fly overhead.  

The day use area is very large with many picnic tables.  There is a cabin, and a large kitchen shelter.  There beach is narrow, but well protected on this side of the Sound so the variation in tide heights is minimal.  

Josiah has been snacking on evergreen huckleberries.  We found a lot of mushrooms.  Lion’s Mane, Bollets,  Maybe a Chantrell or two.  

I am definitely adding this place to the rotation.
