It rained pretty heavily all day. I took the camper off the truck and we went into Westport for fish and chips with all the kids. Keltik arrived today. They took the bus from Portland. Those kids are pretty resourceful, but that bus ride sounds like it sucked. It broke down in Olympia and they waited around for 2 hours for a replacement. It took them 8 hours to get here.

We are cooking breakfast for a lot of people. The little galley isn’t able to keep up with the demand. Also, we need to have brought more breakfast stuff. We went back to town for groceries and firewood. Spent some time on the docks in Westport. There are brown jellyfish in the water 6 - 10 inches across their bell. We saw a small dolphin playing in the water beyond the harbor. Lots of pelicans too.

Walked mom to the beach yesterday. Grayson found her a walking stick the day before that she dutifully used. Yet another reminder of my parent’s mortality. We are all walking a little slower, and are a little more unsure of our footing. I noticed that when I was climbing on the rocks at the jetty in Westport I had to concentrate on my balance a lot more that I thought I should. Some of the leap and strides that would not have taken a second thought 20 years ago were suddenly just a bit too far for me to make.

Spent some time at the beach yesterday. Took the binoculars with me. Westport is a patch of white fuzz to the naked eye if you know where to look. With the binoculars you can make out buildings and landmarks. Ocean Shores can be seen fairly well with them as well. There was a big cargo ship, timber I think, making it’s way into the bay. It seemed to be going pretty slow.

Lorena pulled on one of the wetsuits and took the wakeboard out to play in the waves. Even with the wetsuit it looked cold. It took a remarkable amount of effort to pull it on and even more to get it off again. She’s got enough adventure for all of us.

Packed our things and left this morning. Jazzmine and Jeff got married today and we stopped and watched the ceremony. Got home around 8:30 with just enough daylight to pull the truck out from under the camper. Took about an hour to unload our things. I will need to spend a week cleaning it. There is sand in everything.
