Lorena made reservations early this year for two sites. We were supposed to camp with her aunt Christy. That fell through when auntie decided to go back to Alaska. We asked all our friends if they wanted the extra site and no one was able to make it. Finally one of Josiah’s school friends parents thought it sounded like a good idea. I don’t know them at all.
The park put in a couple new loops. I guess it’s a nice place for this kind of camping. We are essentially in the middle of a large open field.
The construction through Fife and Tacoma is officially done. It makes a huge difference in traffic. It used to take an hour to get from Federal Way to Highway 16 with all the mess they had been making of the freeway. It took 10 minutes yesterday. After 20 years they officially declared the project complete and it’s an incredible difference. I’ve avoided camping on this side of the peninsula just because of that bottleneck. I’ll have to keep in mind that the Tacoma route is viable now.
