320 Miles
A weekend trip to Elgin for a wedding. Jessica, Shanda’s daughter. Pretty much the entire family is gathering. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, the works.
The truck got about 9.5 mpg from Kent to Richland, and just under 9 mpg from Richland to Elgin. We went over Tollgate so I suspect that hill caused much of the fuel consumption. Oil level seems good. It’s time for a change too. I’ve looked around for better quality oil filters and it seems that the higher end Wix filters are a solid product. Superior filtering media, silicon seal, good for 15,000 miles. I would still change it every oil change. They run about $10.
Everything is still watertight. (Knock on wood) I’ll need to look over all the seams this spring and make sure the caulk is still good. I also need to find a replacement for “Antique White” paint. There was a mostly full can in the camper when we bought it and I’ve about used it all. I’ve not had luck at the local hardware store finding something with that exact name. I also need to figure out the paint color used on the truck. I know what the factory paint is, and that stuff is really expensive. I’m not convinced anything used on the truck is factory color though. I’ll need to buy a couple different cans of silver and see what’s close. There are several chips and small rust spots showing and they should be taken care of soon.
