A quick over night trip. Filled the rear fuel tank in the pickup for the first time. The gauge read empty, but I was only able to put 13 gallons in. I'll need to do more research to figure out the actual capacity. Took half the tank to get to Penrose from Kent. I'll fill it again when I get back home and be able to determine mileage.
Grandpa didn't have much to say in his camping log regarding Penrose. He was here in 1976 I think. He seemed to judge the campgrounds based on if they had showers or not. Only one of the loops are open. Looks like there are 4. The showers are closed for the winter. Kinda nice being here in the off season. Hardly anyone is here.
It's a little cold. Mid 50s. The camper is nice and warm though. Cooking really heats the place up. I brought extra sleeping bags just in case. We will see if they are needed.
Noticed one of the brackets that the jacks bolt to is bent. Passenger front. I'll get after it with a sledge hammer and see if I can persuade it back into place. Might be better to remove it first.

9.3 MPG. Ouch? Fuel tanks appear to be 18 front 14 rear. 32 gallons total not even 300 miles total at that rate. Double ouch. That explains the tertiary fuel tank. Wish it wasn't such a inconvenience to use.
