5-14-2022 Lake Sylvia State Park
We are finding it more and more difficult to find camping without making a reservation. We reserved the last spot available here several weeks ago. More not terrific State Park camping. The campground is small and there no privacy between camps. It rained yesterday and this morning so that’s keeping the fair weather campers away. There are a few open spot and our neighbors on either side haven’t shown up so it doesn’t feel as crowded as it could. The lake is really nice. It has all the appearance of an alpine lake without the altitude and bitter cold. There’s a trail around the lake that’s about 1.5 miles. A nice walk. The sun came out this afternoon and warmed things up, but there’s no mistaking that this is the southern border of the rain forest. The camp sites right on the lake are ideal spots. Still no privacy but you can situate things so the lake is the primary view and not the neighbors.
The truck was delivered to us with 80psi in all 4 tires. The placard on the door frame says 80 rear and 60 front. The ride is pretty stiff so I aired the fronts down to 60 and the ride is a little softer. I also kept it in tow/haul mode and the driver overall felt better.
